Pet snow safety tips

With the forecast calling for 70 percent chance of snow and temperatures in the 20s in the metro DC area on Friday, it’s important that pet owners know how to keep their pets safe.

One thing I didn’t know is that more dogs are lost during the winter than any other season, because snow mutes smells and impairs their ability to track their way home. So never let your dog off leash unattended when the ground is snow-covered!
