There’s a bunch of fun events for dogs all over Northern Virginia this weekend, but unfortunately they’re all on Saturday, Aug. 28, so you can’t go to them all!
- Dog Wash and Photos to Benefit GRREAT (Golden Retriever Rescue, Education and Training) from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Bark ‘N Bubbles, 795 Center Street, Herndon, VA 20170. 703-437-WASH. Then since your pup probably won’t stay clean long, make a memory with a photo taken right after the bath from Paws ‘N Claws, who will donate a portion of the photography proceeds to GRREAT.
- Wags & Whiskers at the Village at Shirlington from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The weather is supposed to be less humid this weekend, so bring your dog to pedestrian-friendly Shirlington village for contests, treats and activities from sponsors including Dogma Bakery, Woofs Dog Training Center and NOVA Dog Magazine.
- Fort Belvoir Pooch Plunge from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the South Post Pool #1. Enter your pup in a Frosty Paws eating, best trick or best costume contest. The fee is $3 per dog. This flyer has more information. Call 703-805-4382 with questions.
