There’s a week for everything!

Did you know this week is National Dog Bite Prevention Week? And you’ll never guess who’s promoting it. Yep, the U.S. Postal Service. Here’s their press release. It’s actually pretty smart, because it’s such a common perception that mail carriers are afraid of, and get bitten by, dogs. There’s even a MacDonald’s radio ad running right now that says something about rewarding the “mailman who delivers to the Rottweiller kennel.” And if the tips they provide, such as don’t run, make eye contact or scream when approached by an aggressive dog, help save even one person from being bitten, it’s only going to benefit dogs in the end. Here’s a picture of two dogs in a state of total NON-aggression, one they are quite comfortable in, wouldn’t you say?
