Saturday, Sept. 24: Barktoberfest/GlowDogGlow 5K
Too many fun things going on all day and night at this dog- and family-friendly double event to even list! Bands, food, demonstrations, swag, contests and more. Friday, Sept. 30: Paws for The Cause

Saturday, Oct. 1: Strut Your Mutt
Benefiting eight different animal rescue organizations, this fundraising festival includes interactive games and activities for dogs and their human families. 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Register as an individual or form a team. 20926 Lake Ridge Drive, Boyds, MD 20841.
Sunday, Oct. 16: Pints 4 Paws
Inaugural beer festival benefiting the Animal Welfare League of Arlington in Courthouse Plaza, Arlington, Va. 1:00 to 5:00 pm. Beer-tasting, live music, local food trucks, vendors and activities. $35 pre-sale, $40 on site, $10 for designated drivers.
Saturday, Oct. 29: GRREAT (Golden Retriever Rescue, Education and Training) 3K Walk
10:00 am – 12:00 pm. Easy walk through neighborhoods and wooded trails in Fairfax. T-shirts for participants, raffles and dog items for sale afterwards. $20 per human walker on or before Oct. 17, $25 Oct. 18 and after. Begins at , 11021 Lee Hwy., Fairfax, VA 22030.
