It’s been a big week for black dogs in the news.
First, the Huffington Post featured the photographs taken by Fred Levy, a Massachusetts photographer who wanted to bring attention to the beauty of black dogs, in the article Stunning Photo Series Highlights The Beauty Of Black Dogs That Are Often Overlooked In Adoption.
The article was shared more than 20,000 times on Facebook in just a few days. Check out all the photos in Levy’s Black Dogs Project blog.
I especially like this proud poser, who more than a little resembles Sundae, agree?
Then, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (William and Kate, to us less formal Americans) released a family photo of themselves with eight-month-old Prince George and their black Cocker Spaniel, Lupo.
I love how George is gazing at Lupo (who I am 99 percent sure is gazing at a squirrel, willing it to come closer). All kids should grow up with dogs.
And last, but definitely not least, is the local search for Skie.
She’s a six-year-old rescue Lab mix who escaped from her recent adopter in Arlington back in February. She’s been spotted nearly every day this week hanging out with a fox on the grounds of King David Memorial Gardens cemetery in Falls Church. I hope her owners are reunited with her soon.
Spread the word and keep up to date on the search by liking the Where’s Skie Facebook page.
Gwen, thank you for your blog. It’s such an excellent resource! Great job.
Namaste,
Suzanne
