Two Dog Tales

The Energy Club in Shirlington is hosting a dog yappy hour this week, Wednesday from 6 to 8 pm in the courtyard in the rear of the building. With all the dogs in Shirlington, and the dog park right across the street, it should draw a lot of pups. It’s on the club’s website, but doesn’t say whether it’s a happy hour in the traditional sense, like the one Hotel Monaco hosts in Old Town on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, which is a true “sip & sniff”–you can sit and sip a beer or glass of wine while your dog engages in the universal dog-greeting activity of sniffing you-know-whats! I hope it is, that’s one thing that would be great in the ‘hood, an outdoor patio where you didn’t have to tie the dogs outside the barrier while you sit at a table, but something where your canine pal can sit right with you.
